Service Manager Will Miller
The new service manager at John L. Sullivan spent the better part of his working life around cars with flames coming out of their exhaust pipes.
Will Miller ran a shop for high performance vehicles and toured with racing teams around the western United states. They would put him up at fancy hotels and ask him to bring along the family.
“Problem was I spent most of my time at the track,” said Miller, who has re-organized the John L Sullivan service department. “We are emphasizing the same philosophy our high performance shop lived by for 12 years--keep customers happy and keep their vehicles on the road.”
For Miller that means adding a personal touch to customer service. He readily hands out his cell phone number and encourages customers to offer an honest appraisal of their work.
“We want to hear everything--the good and bad,” said Miller, who grew up in Yuba City. “That way we can continue improving our service for them and earn their long-term confidence.”
As a youngster Miller’s curiosity got him into the proverbial hot water with his folks, but only temporarily. He would dismantle mechanical things around the Miller residence and then put it back together again.
“Now I get paid to do it,” Miller said with a smile.
During his teen years Miller and his buddies from Lindhurst High School worked on his 1971 Firebird. They goal was simple: Make it go faster.
That need for speed sent Miller down a career track of becoming a performance auto mechanic. He received his certification as a master technician from Automotive Service Excellence and also earned the highest level of certification from Chrysler.
His experience with different types of automobiles has helped Miller settle into his new role at John L Sullivan. The dealership also operates a Mopar Fast Lane, which services any make or model of vehicle.
“Everybody’s car is important to them and we respect that,” Miller said. “It doesn’t matter if we are working on a 1970 sedan or performance vehicle.”
Miller continues to enjoy several hobbies such as playing musical instruments, getting outdoors with his ATV and camping with family. He continues to live in Yuba City with his wife, Amanda, and their four children.
